Strider is one of the more innovative ikiki characters and personifies the idea that slow and steady wins the race.  He does not get around very quickly so he likes inventing devices that help him and other slow-moving ikiki characters get more done (he also uses quite a few delivery services).  He also loves ikiki shoes because they are so easy to put on.
